Outward bound- Aberdovey

Posted by shrgoddd1 on October 1, 2007

On Friday, all us Yr 7 were very excited we had big bags and suitcases all ready to go, we were in our own clothes from home and were talking intently about the trip ahead. After our first lesson we loaded ourselves on to the coach and we were off!It was a long journey; but it was worth it. When we got there we were sorted randomly into activity groups, I was with 3 others in my form; but I made friends with the others realy fast!

We had our own team leader who was funny, kind but ready to share our eagerness to participate. We did some team activities which really helped me not only to think and use my brain but discover the personalities of the members of my group. That night we did a sort of fun quiz then absoloutly tired out we went to our dorms and slept ( well we did a bit anyway)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the second day we did  lots more team activities and soon I felt I knew my group almost as well as my own form. Then we took a packed lunch down to the beach and ate, then we were set the challenge of constructing a raft from wooden poles and barrels; then we sailed it around the pier. Then the highlight of the trip came and we jumped in to the sea from the pier. It was scary but very fun. That night we all had to cross some black water, when we’d finished we all jumped in!

On the third and final day we rock climbed then we went home.

Posted by shrdwyee1 on October 1, 2007

When we went to Aberdovey everybody in yr 7 was very excited. We all had big bags and suitcases fully packed even though it was only for the weekend( you never know you might need it). While we were on the coach there was a lot of singing, sweets and sandwiches. When we got there we went into a big room and played lots of games then we got sorted into our groups. After that we got our bags and our instructors took us to our dormitories

MY STAY AT ABERDOVEY

Posted by shrmitci1 on October 1, 2007

The weekend at Aberdovey left everybody exhausted. The journey for me consisted of singing, sweats and tuna sandwiches!! After two hours of continuous traveling, we finally got there. We got split into groups and dorms (where we were meant to sleep but there wasn’t much of that going on!) and we started our weekend of activities! The most exciting activity for me was either the LEAP OF FAITH!!!(Known as Trapeze) or RAFT BUILDING!!! It was a great opportunity, I did things I had never done before!!!

Ressie

Posted by shrchalj1 on October 1, 2007

It was a busy Friday morning, as you might of guessed from the title it was our weekend trip to a Outward bound to make more friend and maybe a friend for life! With all my thing packed and me ready to go we had our first lesson the were off! (Finally!) I was so excited I was about to burst! When we arrived I knew where I was, because my Nan and Grandad have got a caravan near by. We were shown into our groups and played some games, then we were taken to our rooms. I was with some of my friends! Yes! And my other mates are next door. I got into my scruffs (clothes I don’t mind getting dirty) and we started on the first few activities. We did mostly group games to get too know each-other like: had to get twelve people on to a plank with to barrels at the end to balance on sort ourselves into age order without talking! It was hard but we all made it in the end. We were at the beach the next day getting ourselves wet with raft-building, making ourselves a raft and hoping it will float. Then my Highlight of the whole weekend was JUMPING OF THE PIER!!!! TWICE!

We also did: Night Line, Leap of faith and more! I think all of us have been enjoying ourselfs so much. And we all made good friends! :~) :~) :~) :~)

On Friday the 21st of September myself and the rest of year seven went on a resedential  trip to Aberdovey. While there we did many activities my favourite activity was ‘jacob’s Ladder. Jacobs ladder was a huge ladder and the space in between the rungs got bigger as you got higher. the food was realy nice and all the instrustors were very friendly.

my amazing weekend in Aberdovey!

Posted by shrkells2 on October 1, 2007

The most exiting activity i did was probably jumping off the pier, it was great fun as i was the first one in my group! We also had to build a raft and sail it, we suceeded. the most frightening activity was the rock climbing- as it was slippery. the most fun was when we jumped into a pond with disintergrating things in it!YUK!!!! it was great fun and i would definetly go back!
